Ambulance transport is only available for patients with a medical condition that prevents them from independently travelling to hospital.
Non-emergency patient transport is available for individuals who:
Individuals who require non-emergency patient transport can call the EMAS booking line on 0300 300 3434 to secure a slot. EMAS will agree to providing transport after assessing an individuals needs against the criteria.
Patients need to book their transport no later than 72 hours before the date of their appointment. The EMAS booking line is open between 8am and 8pm, seven days a week.
Patients with a hearing or speech impairment should contact the service on 18001, followed by the full phone number. These patients must have access to the Next Generation Text Service.

Where Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board patients are receiving care from providers outside of Northamptonshire and require non-emergency patient transportation either to or from locations within and outside the county, we ask that providers fill out the non-emergency patient transportation proforma authorisation [docx] 60KB and return it via email to northantsicb.nepts@nhs.net.
