Medicines Optimisation

Medicines are the most common healthcare intervention, they account for 15-20% of Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) expenses. The ICBs’ Prescribing and Medicines Management Team (P&MMT) are responsible for making the best use of available resources, to improve the health of individuals and the county’s overall population. This is achieved by giving prescribing advice and guidance to healthcare professionals after reviews of clinical records or audits. The team includes Pharmacists, Pharmacy technicians, Dietitians and a Continence Nurse who work principally in GP Practices and Care Homes.
