HSJ Patient Safety Awards shortlisting!

Our iCAN programme focuses on improving the quality of care for older people in our county. We want to support older people to stay independent for as long as possible. This involves our health and social care teams working together across the county.

Our iCAN colleagues from University Hospitals of Northamptonshire have recently been shortlisted in the HSJ Patient Safety Awards 2022. They are shortlisted for the Digital System and Process Development Award.

The award entry was for the team’s work to introduce new digital tools. These tools help staff to make sure frail patients are cared for in the best setting for their needs. This includes frailty assessments and giving healthcare professionals across the county real-time access to frail patients’ health records.

Kettering General Hospital and Northampton General Hospital are already using these digital tools to improve the management of frail patients.

Congratulations to the team, and very best of luck for the awards ceremony which is taking place in September!
