Two inspiring Leadership Matters Conversations sessions planned for Race Equality Week

Our next two Leadership Matters Conversations sessions coincide with this year’s Race Equality Week (6-12 February 2023), the annual UK-wide movement that addresses barriers to race equality in the workplace.
On Tuesday 7 February we are joined by Roger Kline, author of several reports on race equality in the NHS and designer of the Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES). Roger’s session, ‘Do we need to talk about race?’ begins at 1.15pm.
During this thought-provoking discussion, Roger will look at why achieving race equality is so important and why we have failed to make the progress we had hoped to. The session will also look at how research evidence can help us do much more in the future.

On Friday 10 February, we will be joined by Patricia Miller OBE. Patricia is the Chief Executive Officer for NHS Dorset and she was named by the Health Service Journal as one of the 50 most influential Black, Asian and minority ethnic figures in the NHS for exercising power and influence over policy in 2020. Join us at 1.15pm for Patricia’s session, ‘My Journey: the vital role of equality, diversity, and inclusion’.
During this discussion, Patricia will outline her journey to becoming a chief executive and her experiences of racism along the way. She will detail how she has used her influence to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in her regional and national roles. She will also highlight some of the work she is doing locally in Dorset and what she would like to see from others in this space.
