We are living through some of the most challenging times that many of us will have experienced. The constant cycle of negative news and the current cost of living crisis have seen us experience many months of uncertainty, loss and isolation and this can have an impact on our mental health. In addition, there are many other factors that can cause stress, depression or anxiety in our lives and sometimes, we might just need a bit of help.

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) Talking Therapies helps adults of all ages who may be having difficulties experiencing common problems such as low mood, stress, anxiety and depression. NHFT Talking therapies can help individuals to identify, understand and manage their problems or difficulties and NHFT therapists will support individuals through this process, giving them the skills to help them to help themselves. These therapies are provided in a range of methods to suit individuals, by phone, through video link, face to face, or through some of our newer online tools and programmes, which can be accessed whenever and wherever works best for you.

Online tools and support when and where you want it

We recognise that some people prefer to get support online and in their own time, so we have introduced the online digital support platform, Silvercloud, which provides access to tools and skills to support individuals with their mental health. The platforms hosts a wide range of guided tools based around the cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) model, supporting individuals on their journey in their own time, wherever and whenever it is most convenient. It can provide individuals with new skills and new ways to manage their mental health.

The Silvercloud, platform offers supported access which means a mental health professional will regularly check in and offer online support for up to 6 reviews, however individuals decide which tools, programmes and platforms they’d like to access. Individuals can do as little or as much as they like, with total control of what they want to do and when. All that is required is access to a computer and the internet. The platform can be accessed whether you are already receiving support for you mental health, or if they are looking to take your first step to improving their wellbeing.

If you need a little bit of help, visit winter.support where you can learn more and sign up to any of these free programmes.
