Getting advice on children’s health services in Northamptonshire is now easier than ever, thanks to the launch of a new-lookwebsite.

The easy-to-use site, featuring eye-catching visuals and clickable map, allows people to navigate their way around and find out more about services for children and young people.

Over the last couple of years, the Children Directorate at Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) has been working with colleagues to make a difference to the way information about children’s services can be viewed on the NHFT website.

Identifying that parents, carers and young people wanted more interactive and digital led ways of finding out information, health advice and guidance, a working group was set up to create something new, visual and special.

This initial phase of the digital development is now complete and includes several different elements, presenting an overall more appealing, age appropriate and accessible experience for our young service users and their families.

The new site started with creating a full resource hub dedicated to age specific areas including development, nutrition, safety, sleep. The children’s resource hub offers an engaging space filled with service-led and supported information including videos, links and much more. You can visit the resource hub on the NHFT website.

A children’s mental health area built with our young people in mind, and coordinated heavily with the participation team aims to inspire young people and includes tools and techniques to managing emotional wellbeing .

A brand new landing page for children’s services to enable clear defined areas for parents, carers, young people and professionals and to show off the co-produced children’s doodle branding!

An interactive image map to pave the way! Following a development day at the children’s directorate an inspired stepping stone pathway was developed to show which services fall where, and after a bit of design magic a new way of service introductions was born! Working together has led to new ways of seeing and imagining what could be possible, and although the work is never done and digital continues to be developed and evolved, this is another example of how services continue to strive to make a difference with our communities to ensure quality, safety and something just a bit fun.
