Understand your rights as a carer this Carers Rights Day

Integrated Care Northamptonshire is hosting an online event this Carers Rights Day to help people with caring responsibilities to know their rights and the support available to them.
As a carer (whether you are a new carer or have been caring for a while), it is important that you understand your rights and that you are able to access the support that is available as soon as you need it. Lots of people are taking on caring responsibilities for relatives, friends and neighbours who are disabled, ill or older and need support.
'Caring and Me – My Rights' is a free Microsoft Teams event taking place on Thursday 24 November from 1pm to 2.30pm, and online registration is open now.
The event aims to ensure carers are aware of their rights, to inform carers where to get help and support locally, and to raise awareness of the needs of carers.
'Caring and Me – My Rights' will empower you with information, so that you can confidently ask for what you need, but also know how to challenge when your rights are not being met.
At the event, there will also be 'Listening Booths' (breakout rooms) where you can hear more information on specific subjects and have your questions answered. Attendees will be able to choose which two subjects they would like to find out more about when registering online.
Registration for 'Caring and Me – My Rights' is now open on Eventbrite.
